Der Tunnel: Escape from East Berlin

In Der Tunnel: Escape from East Berlin, a.k.a. 東ベルリンからの脱出, one player takes on the roll of the leader of a group that hopes to defect to the West and the other is an investigator with the secret police. The defector player wins if they are able to open the escape tunnel to West Berlin, and the investigator wins if they are able to arrest a certain number of the asylum seekers. On their turn, the defector assigns a certain number of their members to different tasks such as tunnel construction, fund raising, or simply spending time in the city. These members are assigned face down. The investigator places cards down on the different assignments hoping to arrest the defectors; the faces of the cards match the different members of the defectors. The different members of the defectors have specialties, such as tunnel-digging. Arrested members can be released on bail. The game continues until one of the sides meets their victory condition.
