Sanctuaries

Players take turns placing their set of 12 pentominoes (like Blokus) on a ten-by-ten grid in an attempt to prevent the other player from placing a piece. Unlike Blokus, there is no restriction on placement. The "compressed game" variant takes place with a single set of pieces on an eight-by-eight subset of the board. There is also a solitaire variant, one player attempting to cover the 8x8 subset without covering the four marked center squares.
