Mortain Aug44: Old Hickory vs. the SS

My devilish little print-and-play regimental/kampfgruppe level game about the desperate German counterattack in southern Normandy - "Normandy's Switzerland" - west toward Avranches and the sea against U.S. 1st Army units, to cut off our (especially Patton's 3rd Army's) breakout into all France. 18 8-hour turns, 7-12Aug44. 23 U.S. (eventually) + 4 tac air vs. 12 or 13 German units. 1 mile/1.6 kilometers per hex and pro-defense combat results, because of the dense, compartmentalizing terrain, which was still bocage as well. Includes divisional and corps artillery and Allied fighterbomber/Jaegerbomber/"Jabo" airpower. There is the 50% possibility of German General der Panzertruppen Gerhard Graf von Schwerin's historical (patriotic) anti-Hitler treachery, which held back 116. PzDiv in the north for 48 crucial hours and profoundly crippled Fall (Operation) Luettich. Allied player must choose to exit units in the south for victory points or use them instead to stop the German schwerpunkten (from advancing and getting victory points). This is a tight, nerve-wracking game requiring both players to claw for every victory point. If (von Schwerin has been relieved/arrested and) 116.
