By Marc Brandsma, Nicolas Pilartz · Art by Alphonse Lalauze, Christophe Camilotte, Didier Bourgeois, François Vauvillier
Austerlitz 1805: Le Choc Des Cavaleries (Austerlitz 1805: Cavalry's Choc) is a simulation on a Tactical scale, of the combat which happened on the French left-wing during this famous battle on December 2nd, 1805. Lannes and Murat Corps face the Bagration and Liechtenstein Corps on the Brünn-Olmütz road in a terrible cavalry battle. A hexagon represents about 200 metres of actual terrain, and a turn represents about 20 minutes of real time. A Leader counter represents a Corps Commander or a Division General, accompanied by his staff (about thirty to fifty men). Each Cavalry strength point represents around 200 horsemen, each Infantry strength point around 400 infantrymen and each Artillery strength point around 6 cannons.
