Mechaton: Giant Fighty Robots

By D. Vincent Baker · Art by Emilee Denich, Lester Ward, Richmont Gan, Soren Roberts

What could be more fun than using your giant robots to smash your opponents? How about building them out of Lego first? Build "naked mechs" using the Lego patterns in the rules, then outfit them with weaponry and enhancement packages. Add a little terrain and some base stations, then start the fight. At the start of your match, the "Doomsday Clock" is set which determines the end of the match. Destroy other mechs and fight for control over stations to earn points. Top score when the clock hits zero wins! The rules (available from Lumpley's site or in the printed GenCon 2006 Edition) include a great parts list and references for the pieces you'll need to get started. Aside for the obvious need to supply your own Lego (or compatible) blocks, the game calls for the players to provide a number of six-sided dice in a number of colors, a red and a green d8, a d10 "Initiative Die", and a d12 or d20 to act as the "Doomsday Clock." I DO TO YOU NOW THE ENORMOUS HURT!
