Turnajaiset

An abstract strategy game with a thin medieval theme. Players secretly place an identical set of units on a squared board. Play proceeds in turn-order with players moving one unit at a time. Units have varying combat strengths and some have special abilities. The goal is to get one of your pieces to your opponent's end of the board. This game is very similar to (or rather a variation of) a game with the same theme and practically the same name found in the National Library of Finland, Turnajaispeli / Tornerspelet, published in 1914 by Werner Söderström Osakeyhtiö. The game is similar to Stratego.
