Board Game
Barbary Coast War (Second Edition)
By Skirrid Company of Great Britain, Ltd. · Art by Edward Moran
From the Guild of Blades "Empires of History" series of Axis and Allies style historical games. Based very loosely on America's war with the Barbary pirates. This new edition features a color box and color components. In addition, boarding combat and ports are now represented by separate mapsheets. From the back of the box: "Take a side in the first war against terror fought by the young United States against the Barbary Coast Nations. Historically the War lasted from 1801 till about 1806. The War started when the Barbary Nations would board vessels that flew the US flag and take those US citizens as slaves. The U.S. DID at first pay tribute to the King of Tripoli which did make the US a vassal State of the Ottoman Empire (technically speaking). How and if the United States wins is up to you." Components: small rectangular box, 3 paper game maps, 3 sheets of rules, cut-em-yourself counters, cardboard sheets for mounting counters, ten-sided die.
