Bautzen 1945
By Troll Lord Games
Bautzen 1945 is a simulation of the German counteroffensive in Saxony, from the 22 to the 30 of April 1945. This battle pitted the 2nd Polish Army, the Soviet 5th Guards Army and additional Soviet units against elements of the 4th Panzer and 17th Armies, that launched a counterattack against the flank of the Soviet-Polish forces marching on to Dresden and Prague. Although the counteroffensive failed to stop the Soviet advance or reach Berlin, the Germans inflicted a sound tactical defeat to the 2nd Polish Army, recovering Bautzen and holding it until the end of the war.
