Rites of Cthulhu
By Craig Nybo · Art by Mike Terrell
"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents." -H.P. Lovecraft The entirety of mankind hefts no consequence, for our world is merely a borrowed rock. Long before ancient life, as indicated by human evidence, winked into existence, the Great Old Ones walked our landmasses, lived in our oceans, and hung in our skies. But most of them eventually left Earth and fell into a death-like sleep. These horrors of the universe render us no more significant than the insects that we crush under our boots as a matter of living. Rites of Cthulhu offers a new dimension to traditional card play. Players who like face card games like hearts will love this Lovecraftian twist on standard gaming. Players compete against each other as rival cultists in a series of 6 rites (mini games) to win artifacts. Each artifact adds new interest to the game by introducing a new rule that effects play. After playing all 6 mini-games, the player with the most points from artifact cards wins and becomes the grand cultist.
