The Guild 3: The Card Game
By Heinrich Meyer
The goal of The Guild 3: The Card Game is to build a powerful family dynasty through skillful management, scheming, intrigue, a little luck and then, finally, to either be elected Mayor of the city or - as an alternate objective - be the first to attain the title of Count. --- In The Guild 3: The Card Game, each player starts by choosing one of the 6 professions and drawing 8 cards from the card pile. In addition everyone receives 12 coins of starting money. Each game round starts by the players receiving their income. Players then draw a new card from the pile and play cards from their hand. Many cards have certain prerequisites and most cost coins. Lastly players may discard a card at the end of their turn and may have to redraw new cards. In order to win the game players collect votes for the mayoral election from districts, people and other cards. The person with the highest number of votes wins the mayoral election and thereby the game. The second way to win is for a player to attain the title Count by collecting 120 experience points through playing out cards.
