Gnosis Conflict
By Anthony Gallo · Art by Erin Rosenzweig, Tom Kirrane Martinez
Gnosis Conflict serves as an introduction to wargaming for players new to or intimidated by the genre. It is set in a sci-fi/steam punk dystopian setting. Alien probes have crashed on Earth, but their existence remains kept from the public at large. Governments and corporations vie for control of the technology laden in the salvaged wreckage. Players take control of 1 of 4 factions, each with a distinct play style, and battle for control of the alien technology on the field in order to win. After selecting a faction, players choose from several units to field a small squad of troops. From there, they construct a small deck of enhancements to draw from during play. The gameboard is variable as players randomly divide up terrain plates and take turns placing them before choosing the location of their base. Combat is streamlined with quick resolution. Units that are killed are cloned and released back into play, after a few rounds delay, to rejoin the fight.
