The thief starts at the hotel and tries to reach the train station to win the game. The 6 kid detectives start at various spaces on the board and have to try to trap the thief so that he can't move. The kid detective who makes the last move to trap the thief wins the game. Movement is one space per turn. Another version is called "Achtung! Feind hört mit", where the hunted game piece is a spy.
