It's Nothing Personal

By Casey Maxwell

It’s Nothing Personal is your basic race-to-the finish game – assuming your definition of “basic” involves harpooning the other racers in the legs so you can gain the lead. Friends become enemies and enemies become bigger enemies as you race along your own individual tracks from the starting space to the finish line. Here’s how it breaks down: 1. Roll the die and move forward that number of spaces 2. Decision time! You could: a. Move yourself forward a few more spaces. b. Move another player back a few spaces. c. Place an obstacle on an opponent’s track d. Place a benefit on your own track e. Draw one of 60 mildly zany chance cards and let fate be the boss of you. 3. After each round of turns, there’s a non-secret vote to determine who should move back several spaces. Now’s your chance to convince the others to gang up on the player who’s winning, the player who wronged you last turn, or the player who just doesn't share your opinion about the 1973 NBA All-Star Game. 4. Repeat. Exact revenge as needed.
