Board Game
Galactic Domination
By Luna Witchey, Nicholas "Toxidyne" Witchey, Rei Witchey
Galactic Domination is a conquest game where players compete to take over all the planets in the galaxy. The galaxy includes board arranged in a grid (e.g., 10 x 10) and planets placed randomly on the board. Players purchase ships, create population, attach each other, or make alliances with non-player races. The core mechanic of the game is supply chain management. The number of people represented by an unbroken chain of player pieces (e.g., meeples, ships, populated planets, etc.) contributes to an attack or defense value. The game was created by two young girls, 11 and 7 in 2014, as a project assigned by their father in order to get them off of YouTube while on vacation.
