Basic Training

By Jim Dunnigan, Redmond Aksel Simonsen

"Basic Training is played on a small hex-based map that represents a section of New Guinea. The playing pieces represent companies of Australian Army and Japanese Army soldiers. Each player moves and attacks with his units, in turn, in an attempt to capture (or prevent from being captured) the Village hexes shown on the map. The Japanese player is attempting to capture at least two villages, and the Australian player is trying to prevent him from doing this." Contents - a booklet containing: - 10 unmounted counters (4 Australian, 6 Japanese) - 1 unmounted 68-hex mapboard - 1 combat results table - 3 pages of basic rules - 1 page of optional rules - 2 pages of examples
