Gundam 0080 Cyclops Attack

Tactical level wargame based on Japanese mecha animation Mobile Suit Gundam & Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket.　New Gundam game with emphasis on command. Players control small size forces with 1 to 9 “mobile suits” (giant robots). At the beginning of each turn, players assigns one of thirteen commands to each squad, such as reorganization, suppressive fire, covering fire, advance, or coordinated maneuver. Then, initiative is determined, and players activate their units in an order specified by their opponent. During activation, the unit can benefit from assigned command. The game contains five scenarios based on the story, with the general goal being the destruction of enemy forces. However, a campaign game is also included where players manage their own force by appointing pilots and purchasing mobile suits. The battles are resolved as normal. In between the battles, the abilities of the pilots progress by combat experience, and mobile suit must be repaired and maintained. As a small drawback, fighters and tanks are not included in this game. The sequel game Psyco-Gundam updates the rules and includes stats for mobile suits from Z Gundam.
