In the 14th century, the fiercely independent republic of Lucca became the site of bitter rivalries between warring families. But vying for political power wasn't enough. Crammed together inside the city walls, Lucca's noble families built great towers--some spent their entire fortunes--jostling with one another to reach the tallest heights and gain the perfect view of the Tuscan countryside. Build towers to maximize your View of the countryside around Lucca while obstructing the Views of your opponents. The game ends when all of Lucca has been filled, and the player with the most total View wins.
