Assault on Stalingrad

From July to October 1942, in the area between the Don and Volga Rivers, the German army broke through the Soviet defense and rushed to Stalingrad. They aimed to occupy the important city facilities (such as Mamai Hill, tractor factory and grain silos). However, Soviet reinforcements poured in and fought back.
