La Battaglia del Lago Ghiacciato
By Guido Crepax · Art by Guido Crepax
"La Battaglia del Lago Ghiacciato" (The Iced Lake Battle) is a paper-miniatures wargame based on the battle of Lake Peipus (1242) as inspired by Sergej Ejzenstejn's movie "Alexandr Nevskij". The map is divided into squares and the units are beautiful stand-up paper soldiers (that the players have to cut and mount) designed by Guido Crepax, representing Russians and Teutonic knights. Victory is gained when a certain difference between players' points is reached or, alternatively, with the elimination of one of the two armies. Points are assigned according to the quality and the quantity of eliminated enemy units.
