Let's Pumpkin
By Eugen Anghel · Art by Eugen Anghel
Pumpkins have surprisingly small brain stems – non-existent even, you might say. As such they're not the brightest of creatures and they get in trouble easily. In Let's Pumpkin, you're trying to help this fragrant fruit find their way to safety, mostly so that you can plant them again later. Starting with an array of face-down, vibrantly orange triangular tiles arranged in a circle, players take turns planting a pumpkin on an unrevealed tile – at which time the landscape beneath the tile is discovered, often to the pumpkin's detriment as each terrain tile hides a trap. The pumpkins can catch fire, freeze, be sucked up by tornado, and so on. To counter the devastating effects of these traps and save the pumpkins, a player can use tokens acquired from burning or frozen terrain; alternatively, a player can use these tokens against opponents, really grinding their gourds by strengthen traps that affect them. Whoever manages to plant the last pumpkin, whether owned or already on the game map, wins!
